Employment Is Still Very Weak

Unemployment and many other labor measures are at their worst levels in decades.

Initial claims for jobless benefits fell to 565,000 for the week ended July 4, The Labor Department reported this morning.  But initial claims are still especially high and almost 7 million are currently receiving unemployment benefits.
