Are You Missing The Housing Bust, Mr. Lereah???? – National Association of Realtors Chief Marketer (errr…. Economist!) Quits
I believe that in years to come historians will see the beginning of the twenty first century as the ‘golden age’ of real estate. And I want to persuade you to take advantage of this historic opportunity.
David Lereah, Are You Missing The Real Estate Boom? Why Home Values and Other Real Estate Investments Will Climb Through the End of the Decade – And How To Profit From Them (Currency: February 22, 2005) – published just before the peak of the housing boom (quote from David Lereah Watch).
Odd, (don’t you think?), that David Lereah, voice of real estate in America, Chief Economist of the National Association of Realtors, would step down from probably the most visible real estate position in the United States, after writing a book on how real estate would boom through the end of the decade, and calling the bottom in real estate no less than 4 times in the last year – it might be 5.
I’m glad I won’t have to see this punk on CNBC or read quotes from him in the press anymore.
To me, this is just too funny. And the perfect symbol of where we really are in the housing bust. It seems almost transparent: Are you misssing the housing bust, David?
UPDATE (Wed 5/2, 12:30am): Kirk has linked to this post in his most recent linkfest, “Bubblicious”. It’s towards the middle: “Are you missing the housing bust?”
