Google Powers Through $700 – Can It Close There?

October 31, 2007 at 9:22 am  ·  Category: Market Commentary, Stocks

Just 17 trading days after closing above $600 for the first time Google is threatening to close above $700 for the first time.

A Wall Street Journal article (subscription required) that Google is in “advanced” talks with Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel about using it’s cellphone software in their phones did the trick.

This move has pushed Google’s market cap past Bank of America and Procter & Gamble, two huge Dow components, to make it the 5th largest US company.
